Why fluorescent colors require more measurement

Fluorescent colors attract attention, improve visibility, and are used specifically in many applications. However, they pose a particular challenge in terms of measurement technology. The reason lies in their physical behavior: they not only reflect light but also emit light at a different wavelength. Conventional color measurement devices do not detect this emission, which often results in unstable or non-reproducible measurement results. What looks the same to the eye can differ significantly in terms of measurement.

This quickly leads to uncertainties in quality control and unnecessary coordination in production, especially in the case of luminous textiles or safety-related materials.

With the Fluorescence Detector PR0325, PREMOSYS offers a solution that addresses precisely this problem. The detector specifically measures the fluorescent emission and makes it objectively assessable. This makes color measurement reliable, comparable, and process-safe, even with fluorescent materials.

When color can do more than just reflect, measurement requires technology that sees more.
